How to Choose the Best Garden Fences for Your Home Published on Sunday, 27 June 2010 Garden fences are installed for many reasons. For one, most people want to have privacy so they install fences to create a covering from the street to their house. For this purpose, wooden fences would be effective. Of course, this would depend on the height of the fence too. A 6 feet wooden fence made of slats and posts would be good for security purposes. To make it more presentable, you can paint it with any color that go well with the exterior of your home. You could also leave it natural for a more rustic appeal. On the other hand, if you simply want something simple and charming a cedar white picket fence would do the trick. If you prefer low maintenance garden fences though, vinyl would be an ideal material. Not only would it provide a good covering for privacy but it would keep unwanted pets and animals from getting in as well. Because of the characteristics of this material you can simply hose the dirt away. What's more is that they do not rust or peel. They will remain as charming or as solid as you have installed them. Chain links are more for purposes of keeping your own pets within your compound and keeping other animals out. But you'd have to plant climbing vines and roses to cover your home better. Aside from this the plants would, of course, even make your fence and the front of your property more attractive as well.
